Powerful online document editing suite for teams. Compatible with Microsoft Office, GDPR compliant, self-hosted. Easy integration with 200+ partners worldwide.
Self-hostable online office suite for teams with strong Microsoft Office compatibility, GDPR compliance and integrations with 200+ partner platforms.
Collabora Online brings collaborative document editing to organisations that want an office suite inside their existing infrastructure. It handles text documents, spreadsheets, presentations and drawings in a browser, with support for Microsoft Office and OpenDocument formats. The attraction is practical: colleagues can work on the same file without handing their document workflow to a separate cloud provider.
Built on LibreOffice technology, the suite connects to platforms such as Nextcloud through server-side integrations. Administrators can run it on their own infrastructure or choose a hosting partner. It supplies the editing layer rather than replacing an entire workplace platform, so storage, accounts and deployment still need an appropriate surrounding system.
Key features:
- Shared editing lets colleagues work together on documents in their browsers.
- Office format support helps teams exchange files with Microsoft Office users.
- Multiple editors cover writing, spreadsheet analysis, slide decks and vector graphics.
- Flexible deployment supports infrastructure managed internally or through a hosting partner.
- Supported subscriptions provide long-term maintenance, signed security updates and service agreements.
- Free development edition allows home use and testing before a supported deployment.
Collabora Productivity Limited is registered in Cambridge, United Kingdom. For European organisations, self-hosting makes the location and administration of document infrastructure a deployment decision. The public code uses the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Data protection still depends on the host, access controls and operational practices chosen by the organisation.
Business subscriptions are advertised at €3 per user per month for up to 99 users, with enterprise quotes above that. The free CODE edition receives rolling updates but lacks an SLA and long-term support; Collabora explicitly advises against treating it as a supported production release.
